“This is your camp shirt, midlayer and anorak in one.
The Ultimate Bushcraft Anorak is a 100% pure wool pullover, handmade to order in our Cheshire workshop by a former British soldier. It’s built for people who sleep under tarps, cook over open fires and stay out when the weather turns – not for posing on the high street.
Wool keeps insulating even when it’s damp, breathes naturally as you move and shrugs off sparks better than synthetic fleece. The cut is long and generous so you stay covered when you’re kneeling at the fire, splitting wood or working around camp, with enough room to layer underneath in deep winter.
This is the piece you pull on when you step out of the tent, tend the fire and get on with the day.”
Why 100% Wool Beats Synthetic Fleece
“Most outdoor midlayers are plastic. They melt around sparks, smell after a few trips and end up in landfill.
This anorak is woven from 100% wool for a reason:
Wool keeps you warm even when it’s damp, so you don’t freeze the moment you stop moving.
It naturally repels light rain and snow without chemical coatings.
It’s quiet in the trees – no rustling, no crinkle.
It resists sparks from the fire far better than synthetic fibres.
With basic care, a heavy wool garment can last for years of hard use, picking up stories instead of damage.”
Built for Bushcraft, Not the High Street
The longer, shirt‑style cut keeps your core covered when you’re crouched over the fire or working low to the ground.
The roomy fit lets you move freely, layer underneath and still get your hands inside for warmth.
The simple neckline means nothing digs into you under rucksack straps, and there’s no noisy hardware to catch or rattle.
This is a working layer for camp life – from gathering wood to sitting out a long, cold evening by the flames.”
Sizing & Fit
“These anoraks are handmade to order in sizes from XS to 4XL.
For the best fit, measure a favourite outdoor shirt or jumper flat across the chest (pit to pit) and compare:
XS – 21" pit to pit
S – 22" pit to pit
M – 24" pit to pit
L – 25" pit to pit
XL – 26" pit to pit
2XL – 27" pit to pit
3XL – 29" pit to pit
4XL – 30" pit to pit
If you’re between sizes or prefer extra room for heavy layering, we recommend sizing up.
If you’re unsure, send us your pit‑to‑pit measurement and we’ll advise before we cut your anorak.”
“Each Ultimate Bushcraft Anorak is cut, sewn and finished by hand in our small workshop in Macclesfield, England.
We make these in small batches, not on a production line. Please allow around 2–3 weeks for us to make and dispatch your order.
We always do our best to get your kit out as promptly as possible, and it’s worth the wait.”
Care & Longevity
“Wool is naturally odour‑resistant and benefits from being aired more than washed. Hang your anorak to dry after trips and brush off any dirt once it’s dry.
With simple care, this piece will soften, mould to you and last for many seasons of hard use. If you ever need advice on repairs or care, just get in touch
