“Crafted by Hand in Cheshire – Using Natural Fabrics.”
At Modern Woolfare, we believe the finest outdoor gear begins with the finest natural materials. Every piece is handmade in our workshop in Macclesfield, England, using traditional skills and time-honoured techniques.
We work almost exclusively with wool, waxed cotton canvas, and leather—materials that have earned their place through centuries of real-world use. Wool keeps you warm even when wet, canvas offers strength and weather resistance, and leather develops character with every journey. Rather than following trends or fast fashion, we create honest, hardworking equipment designed to improve with age.
Founded by an Army veteran, Modern Woolfare is built on the values of resilience, craftsmanship, and practicality. Every product is carefully handcrafted in small batches using high-quality British and European natural materials, with durability and functionality at the heart of every design.
Modern Woolfare is also a family business. Alongside my own work, some of our products are handcrafted by my talented Mum and Dad, bringing generations of practical skills and genuine craftsmanship to everything we make.
Whether it's a pure wool shirt, a handcrafted leather belt, a waxed canvas bag, or traditional camp equipment, every item is made with the same philosophy—to create products that are built to be used, repaired, treasured, and eventually passed on.
We don't believe in disposable gear. We believe in natural materials, honest craftsmanship, and making products that will stand the test of time.
Made by hand. Made from nature. Made to last.
Don't ever settle for second best.
