From the Battlefield to the Workbench: How Modern Woolfare Was Born

It’s probably long overdue that I reintroduce myself and share a bit more about how I ended up here.

Before Modern Woolfare existed, my life looked very different. I’ve been a soldier — twice, in fact. I’ve worked as a bodyguard and close protection operative, a security consultant, and a surveillance specialist. My work took me across the globe, often into some of the most demanding and unpredictable environments imaginable.

Discipline, resilience, and reliability weren’t just values — they were necessities.

Then life threw me something I couldn’t train for.

As the team at Real First Aid would say, I got “big sick.”

A heart attack, severe heart failure, a defibrillator and pacemaker fitted, and later, a spinal collapse that required major surgery. The result was chronic, debilitating pain that changed everything about how I lived and worked.

When you go through something like that, your perspective shifts. I couldn’t go back to my old life — but I also couldn’t just sit still. I needed a new mission, something that still carried meaning, purpose, and grit.

That’s where Modern Woolfare began.

It started with a simple idea: to make things that last. Not disposable, fast-fashion nonsense — but honest, hardwearing gear that can handle real life. Clothes built with the same mindset I learned in the military and security world — dependable, practical, and ready for anything.

Every piece I make carries that philosophy. It’s not just fabric and thread — it’s a reflection of experience, endurance, and craftsmanship.

Hardwearing. Honest. Built to endure.

That’s Modern Woolfare.
